darascal
Hi, Has anyone tried one of the Asynchronous USB/SPDIF interfaces (Halide Bridge, MF V-LINK, etc) into the SPDIF of a Peachtree Nova? From Chris' review of the iNova, seems the older Nova may not have the best USB implementation, and looking back at his review of the Nova, he got his best results going into the SPDIF input. I'm using a Nova as a Dac-only via USB from a Mini. I thought the sound quality was pretty good until I bought a $600 CD player that sounded better. Now I'm wondering about ways to improve the Mac/Nova sound quality. skyline
I had an iDecco briefly and the sound improved via a KingRex usb converter. If I still had the iDecco, I'd definitely run it through a converter. Waversa hub > Lumin S1 > Bakoon HPA-21 Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Hi Rascal - There are a few readers here on CA using USB to S/PDIF converters into the Nova. Hopefully they'll chime in on this thread. I highly recommend the Halide Bridge USB to S/PDIF into the original Nova. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
darascal
Do you remember what kind of sonic change you noticed? I was concerned about the quality of the Nova's SPDIF (Coax) input, since I had disappointing results running my MH CDP through it, but maybe it was the cable quality (just used a stock Blue Jean cable) or the CDP's output. Jay S
Has anyone tried a Halide or MF V-Link with the new iNova? Is the iNova any better at handling jitter than the Nova? Thanks.
