The Computer Audiophile
Hi Guys, I just noticed a link on the back of a new Atmos blu-ray I received, to a site called Living Immersive. Turns out, Stefan Bach is behind it! He has been involved in Blu-ray audio "forever" and is a really nice guy. Anyway, the site offers some titled in every immersive format imaginable. https://www.livingimmersive.com/shop/ El Guapo 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
jrobbins50
But still such a small number of albums to pick from! JCR Link to comment
El Guapo
Hi @jrobbins50 Check this out: Pure Audio for more immersive blu-ray audio 😃 Hi @The Computer Audiophile I saw you got the "The Gordiant Knot" so I bought one, too. 😆 Same tricks, recorded it to 8ch FLAC for 5.1.2 and playback as 8ch DSD256 with room corrections. This album is AWESOME!!! The Computer Audiophile 1 Link to comment
jrobbins50
@El Guapo, I’ve got the Gordian Knot as well, and yes, it sounds great. I just want to follow your recording process. Are you using Audacity to record in FLAC the eight channel 5.1.2 output from the DRP? And then you are breaking up into separate files for each track? Once having done that, can it be played back through Roon and HQP, just as any 7.1 file? The DRP is just such a clumsy UI….JCR Link to comment

I use Audacity to record the 5.1.2 output through BlackHole from DRP. Firstly, I personally prefer "split chapter" when ripping. Then I record it track by track (I know it's painful but easy to manage after it). If I'm sure the level is greater than -60dB then I'll check the Sound Activated Recording "ON" for autostart, otherwise I'll press record button manually (cut the blank before export). I'll put some tags (album and track info) when exporting to 8ch FLAC. Roon will use these tags for album recognition.😁 Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
I rip to a single track in Audacity, then drag the file into XLD, with a tie sheet, and XLD outputs individual files for me :~) El Guapo 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
El Guapo
@The Computer AudiophileJust confirmed the aggregate device technique can play DSD in DoP mode. I successfully playback 5.1 24/96 version of Dark Side of the Moon to 6ch DoP DSD128 thru HQPlayer Desktop (DSD128 was due to one of the DAC's DoP limitation).
