Popular Post Miska
Most common mistake with measurements is to take just couple, and assume it is enough to describe everything. Something like SINAD. There are so many different measurements/tests for certain cases. Just to analyze one aspect of the behavior. And sometimes the measurement itself affects the result as well. Sometimes some measurements are also forgotten, like TIM which I started to do as part of my testing. Archimago also picked it up, but used much easier test signal than the one originally defined by Otala & co in the 70's. I'm using the more difficult of Otala & co's two choices, since also audio equipment has moved forward a lot, from the days of vinyl and analog tapes. Especially loudspeakers and headphones are a lot better these days. So performance should have also moved forward.
