The Yggy is really really good when fed with red book.  IMO not quite as good with hi-res.  Again IMHO.

 

I have actually just tried that. I am playing around trying different things.

I am fighting myself and trying to remember that the DAC doesn't need those 4 bits anyway, it just feels wrong to be doing this, but this is what I am trying now.

I am going to go on record and say I prefer the Bit Rate set to Default in HQP rather than setting it to 20 bits. To me, it sounds more open, less closed in, and there is more of the low level detail, more easily heard.

 

Its close though, very very close.
