Samuel T Cogley
Thanks for this Chris! I have completely avoided USB inputs on all Schiit DACs I have because the sound quality from USB was always not as good as the other inputs. Apparently, Mike Moffat agreed. Having to schlep my Yggy and Gumby to Newhall CA to get this done is never fun, but certainly easier than those who would have to ship. Link to comment

It will likely take half the time of driving there, not to mention waiting, or the second trip to pick it back up. The Gumby upgrade is not an end-user thing (if I'm reading the press release correctly), so only the Yggy I could hypothetically do myself. But I'm thinking about the Analog 2 upgrade for the Yggy, just to go all in. And that also requires a journey back to Schiit. 4est and daverich4 1 1 Link to comment

Matt Don't you mean S/PDIF? Is there such a thing as a CD transport that works in USB host mode? Link to comment

That post is over a year old. This will be very interesting if it ever sees the light of day. And hypothetically, this transport would work with any DAC that takes USB input. The only fly in the ointment that I can see is consumer demand for CD transports vs. development costs. Based on the current dearth of quality CD transports at reasonable prices, I'm a little skeptical. But don't misunderstand: if this is real one day I would likely purchase one. Link to comment
