Fidelizer Nimitra - Keetakawee Punpeng

Having gone round and round thinking about getting a new "music server" to replace my Mac Mini I have just bought a secondhand Fidelizer Nimitra. As it has only been running for an hour or so it is too soon to comment on the sound quality versus what I had before (though it does sound very good), however I must comment on the amazing service I have received from Keetakawee Punpeng, the designer of the server and the man behind Fidelizer. Though I am reasonably competent with IT products and have been building/repairing my own desktops and servers, both Windows and Mac, for years I must admit I was concerned about setting up the Nimitra because of it's highly optimised version of Windows. I shouldn't have worried as, as soon as I confirmed to him that it was online, Mr Punpeng logged into my Nimitra via Teamviewer, reconfigured it to run as a Roon Core as I requested, upgraded to the latest version of Roon, again as requested, and then reoptimised the system ready for me to set up Roon for myself. If I hadn't felt able to do that I'm sure he would have done that as well. This level of service would be frankly amazing for a new product, let alone a secondhand one. I cannot thank Mr Punpeng enough and on the basis of my experience would heartily recommend him and his products.

I should perhaps add that this all took place at 5.30pm here in the UK whilst Mr Punpeng is in Thailand, so it was the middle of the night for him!

I can second that, but I am alsoin Thailand so have the advantage that our clocks are in sync 😉

After a month and a half of listening to the Nimitra I must say I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. The sound is much richer than my previous modified Mac Mini yet amazingly retains all of the details. My digital system has simply never sounded so good. Other equipment is a Phasure Lush USB cable, Lampizator Atlantic Plus DAC, SJS Arcadia Pre and PSE 2A3 Power Amps and Ocellia Grandis Calliope Signature 30 speakers.

 

Mine is the standard Nimitra so I may well send it off for the upgrade at some stage this year but at the moment feel no need to do so.

I'm happy to hear Nimitra is growing on you beautifully. Yes even original Nimitra and Nikola can perform really well as it was designed from someone who want to appreciate music the same way as highend Esoteric transport.
