You make it sound as if Roon server just automatically finds its endpoint. But I think it can only make that discovery if the end point has an IP address allocated to it - either statically or dynamically by a DHCP server. In my case of W10 laptop server bridging ethernet to wifi, with a wifi-connected router, that bridging process is fiddly and unreliable. It sounds as if the same will apply to a NUC end point. I can live with that, but a static IP address would mean that Roon server could find its endpoint without the wifi router being involved - which removes a level of complication at start up time. You may want to do some reading on network discovery and the use of local DNS Regards, Dave Audio system Link to comment
davide256
I choose not to do kernel updates.... twice I’ve had that brick a working USB boot stick. Safer just to pull out a new USB stick and install newer version from scratch. Regards, Dave Audio system Link to comment

Anyone got this NUC/AL combo up and running successfully? How did you do it? Your first screen shot shows it booting to RAM, the next is the normal menu displayed when "audiolinux" default user login is used. The usual next step in a new setupis to select 1 for configuration, next choose disable running audio services in case something was preselected, then choose your media player choice, usually Roonbridge or an HQPlayer NAA option when using celeron NUC. Because you have boot to RAM already enabled you will have to choose "Save system" when done or else changes will be lost at reboot. If you are using LMS, someone else will need to chime in. happydance 1 Regards, Dave Audio system Link to comment
