A little OT but on the bottom of the opticalRendu for sale page you spelled “coming soon” as “comming soon”. Twice. And highlighted it in red. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I have mine (along with the Starter Kit) and intend to install it today but other than trying it out to confirm that it’s functioning, it’s going to bake for a day or two before I sit down to listen for real.

After having my opticalRendu for a couple of days I thought I'd chime in with an observation about something that may or may not be a positive. It's been on since Friday so it should be fairly well warmed up. I replaced an ultraRendu with it and one thing I noticed right away was an increased sense of what I would describe as "clarity". The problem with that is I think I'm hearing some things that perhaps I shouldn't be. As an example, I'm a huge fan of bassist Nikki Parrott. I've had her latest album for a month or two and have listened to it a number of times. The first time I listened to it after installing the opticalRendu in my system I noticed for the first time that on a couple of songs there is someone/something tapping along in time to the music in the right channel. It's way in the background but once I heard it I couldn't unhear it and for some reason, it's really distracting to me. This is of course, not the fault of the opticalRendu but in my case it's going to take some getting used to.

It’s in several tracks but there’s a little bit right at the beginning of I Love Paris and again starting about 1:40.

And that is just with my humble LPS 1.2, Ultra Rendu, Chord M-Scaler Chord Hugo TT2, KGSSHV Carbon into Stax 007 MK2. Can you imagine what I would hear with an Optical rendu.

 

Yes, I don’t hear it as someone clapping. It’s more like tapping lightly on a cheek with an open mouth.

I leave the my optical, ultra and micro Rendu’s on all the time. They all get warm but not too much to hold.

Do you have any idea when the opticalRendu will be in stock again? I’ve been so happy with my first one I decided to purchase a second one but when I stopped by your web site I discovered they’re out of stock.

Do you have the current version of 2.8? For some people, including me, earlier versions of 2.8 had that problem which was resolved by a software update.
