SGC - sonicTransporter and Merging AES67 protocol

Q: So in terms of physical hardware what does this involve?

A: Just a sonicTransporter

 

Q: Obviously a sonicTransporter is involved but what else?

A: Recently updated:) 

 

Q:Does this mean we can soon output any PC/Mac audio into the sonicTransporter and send audio to the other end of the house to a Rendu?

A: No. The sonicTransporter will output from it's player to any Merging AES67 capable gear. The Sonore Rendu will not be involved in the stream at all because the Merging device has network input.  

 

Q: A Sonore/SGC "Virtual Sound Card" on PC/Mac, playing to the sonicTransporter?

A: No. The Virtual Sound Card will be on the sonicTransporter.

Merging was nice enough to send a Nadac to us for testing...should have some feedback soon.
