Damien, why does Audirvana (3.1.2) show a volume level of -8.8 dB at startup?

After playing the first track, this window no longer appears.

Hilo plays only DSD64, shows on the screen DSD and sample rate 176,4.

Today, after the accident on the line, the Internet was absent and Audirvana refused to start.
Empty window.

What happens, I can not listen to music when the Internet is not working even one day?

The main value to the Sox, built-in noise reduction filters.
Thus, bad recordings sound much better in SoX than in iZotope, while maintaining the same level of detail.
On very few recordings, I prefer the deliberate detail iZotope.

Sox may be somewhat inferior in width to the scene, but the resolution is definitely not.

Spurious harmonics create the false impression of greater detail, and figures in iZotope.

At Sox the sound is clear, seamless and analog. The details are all in place.
