He had a contender for best country music title of all time: "How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away?"

I've long loved his early song "Canned Music (Live Music)" ! "I Scare Myself" is a close second.

 

What other song is more appropriate to a bunch of audiophiles, I ask you !

 

And the outcome in the song is not what the gear salesmen promise  Believe me I know exactly how it feels

 

I was lucky to see him live here at the Magic Bag (MI). Great show ! Musicianship, showmanship, comedy, in a small venue. The only thing I had trouble with was the change in his musical style over many years, while his early recordings were frozen in my head. I'm still not that big a fan of "Beating the Heat". But I loved the concert none the less.
