I believe DSP will become a critical aspect of future audio enjoyment. If MOA cannot fully support DSP - that is a problem. I agree, and to me this inability to DSP for other reasons upon playback is more concerning than anything else. Whether MQA is used like DRM in the future or not doesn't matter. It is preventing you from your own room correction or other DSP right now unless you don't decode it which results in a lesser quality signal to start with. Any positive difference it makes pales in comparison to how useful playback DSP is in improving real performance in my home. MOA-Missing On Arrival?? I kinda like it. jaywhar 1 And always keep in mind: Cognitive biases, like seeing optical illusions are a sign of a normally functioning brain. The Sony uses DSEE HX Technology to upscale the tracks to "near high resolution" quality according to Sony. I listened to the tracks in the big rig using the Auro 3D upmixer to listen in 10.1. It sounded great, very realistic. MUCH better than Spotify. I have not done an A/B yest with a CD and MQA so will need to use a different CD that is available woth a masters version next time but it won't be a blind test. Hey what sold me on DSEE HX Tech is this graph. Seeing what it can do that just has to be good. If they develop HDSEESEE HXXX tech for 3D Auro I'll just have to order it and 17 speakers tomorrow. What more proof can you need to see this can increase resolution of lossy compressed files back to nearly the original status without the lossy part. I suppose it is possible they could develop MQA DSEE HX PLEX. This will lossily encode the DSEE quality expansion in a way that reduces ill effects of everything coming before and certifies compliance with the original artist intent while deblurring and improving it all beyond what it originally was at reduced bitrate. 56 kbps MP3 files will have superior sound quality equivalent to 784 khz/32 bit sources upon decoding. Magic, simply stunning magic. mansr and semente 2 And always keep in mind: Cognitive biases, like seeing optical illusions are a sign of a normally functioning brain.
