Sonore ultraRendu v1.3

Seeing the ultraRendu next to the UltraCAP leaves me wanting to combine them in a nicer way. As such, I have an idea for a custom faceplate that allows you to mount both and have them look as one in your audio rack. Please provide feedback here so I can gauge interest in it.

Would rather have 1 big enclosure and connect the boards directly inside. Optional, of course.

If the price increase is higher yet within reasonable then I will definitely buy it. I hope it does not double the price just because the market may accept it.

I would really like to see an actual picture of the ultraRendu + LPS-1 faceplate before ordering. That drawing shows the front, ok, but how is the back? The inside?

Got my ultraRendu yesterday and listened to a couple of hours using my LPS-1. I had the microRendu (original software and hardware) in my main system until last week until I sold it. So no direct comparison is possible, only from memory.

First impression: wow, there sure is a difference. More resolution is obvious, than that sense of extended decays and finer nuances of micro-dynamics. Textures are more clearly defined, and instruments more focused in the soundstage. Smooth and refined. I could not find any cons.

Definitely worth the upgrade. Highly recommended!

Next step is to test after extended break in, and also switching the regular DC cable I have to a Ghent one.

Native streaming integration would be niiiice.

But icing on the cake really, I am fine with my uR as it is.

What do you mean by native streaming?

Sorry, I never got to answer.

I mean an Tidal and/or Spotify app running directly on the ultraRendu, controlled by cell phone (app or local website). Too much for the ultraRendu's hardware to host?

@vortecjr

Any chance of upgrading the ultraRendu with the same output circuits and regulations from opticalRendu, minus the optical connection itself? Like a ultraRendu 1.5 or so?

Is there any way I can stream Deezer from my Android phone to my ultraRendu directly, without any server in between?

After trying several one box solutions, I am considering returning back to a UltraRendu especially with the 2.8 software upgrade lending more stability.

I have couple hurdles to get past to take me back towards the Sonore.

I do half of my listening to Radio Paradise, an Internet based radio site that I am addicted to, it's my go to spot for new music. I’m not sure if this is accessible via the UltraRendu. You can stream Radio Paradise from some devices at full FLAC Quality and other devices it’s its as low as 320. It’s a pretty popular site so I was wondering if any one has been able to access this with some application on the UR?

I plan to power it with an Uptone audio Ultracap ps. I’ve heard the DC cable can really improve the sound quality. Could someone please recommend a DC cable to connect them.

any help would be appreciated.

I used here ultraRendu + LPS-1.2 + Ghent DC with Gotham cable as short as possible 0.3m. Now I use the LPS-1.2 with the ISO Regen downstream, and power the ultraRendu with Sonore's own LPS.

Looking at how your currently configured, the ISO Regen must have benefitted more from the LPS-1.2 than the UltraRendu.  Did you upgrade the DC cable on the SGC power supply? It looks like the SGC power supply has a different ID (2.5mm) barrel connection than the UltraRendu’s more standard 2.1mm. Why would SGC incorporate a different less standard size barrel connectors on their ps when it would apparently require a different barrel connectors at each end of their DC cable to power a Rendu?

I don't have a SGC power supply, mine is Sonore's, made by barrows here from AS.

It has more current and better regulation than the LPS-1.2 and is opticalRendu ready whenever I can upgrade.

Hi, has anyone using KECES P8 to power the UltraRendu?  I would like to hear some feedbacks on it if you can share.  I am currently choosing in between P8 and VDC 7MKII from Ciaudio.  Many thanks.

I would suggest you consider Sonore's own linear power supply, as it was designed specifically for the rendus.
