The music on the CD could have been AMAZING but I can't get around the sound quality... Hyper compressed, brittle, and harsh. Such a shame. Every damn track is clipped. Really?! No wonder Kim Deal walked off.

 

Let's hope the 24-bit version from HDTracks fares better than this otherwise vinyl is the only option IMO.

Same DR as the 24/44 I'm afraid, it's odd, the lossless download I got when I ordered EP2 vinyl showes "Blue Eyed Hexe" at 0, the 24/44 is leveled at just over -2, looks like they level shifted it to make it look "quieter"

Many of the Pixies albums had DR 12-13... So this isn't even consistent with their typical sound mix.

Sound quality aside, I do enjoy this album.

 

The Record Store Day bonus track, Women of War, is available for free on SoundCloud in 24/44 WAV, same quality as the HDtracks download.
