So all my dff files and some of my dsf files will not play. What internal checks does Hqp do to prevent running either dff or dsf files? This represents about 30% of my music. I recall Miska saying Hqp will not play compressed dff files. Is that the check? All these files play in Roon so I am disappointed they will not play in Hqp. Can Hqp be adjusted to run these files or am I stuck?

As previously posted I could not run all dff and some dsf files. Several folks suggested perhaps my settings were wrong. So I started experimenting with settings now I cant run any sdm files. Here are my settings. Appreciate any help.

I swiched to pcm from adaptive rate (auto) and all files work fine. Guess I cant use adaptive rate. If I choose sdm all files work as well.

Ok I have finally gotten through the mechanics of running HQP and believe me this is one clunky system to operate. But let me tell you if you value good Sonics this is the one to have. Sound is glorious...dynamics to spare, quiet, tone especially highs to die for. Jussi thanks for providing us with the gift of music.

So I solved my issue by selecting either sdm or pcm rather than autorate.

I cannot get connectivity from hqp to rendu and dac. Everything lights up on rendu router, i load files into hqp but when i click a track to play it does not light up on hqp screen or play music. Any ideas? I think I lost a switch that was in my ethernet chain so I took it out. i rebooted my rendu several times, I'm not bridging. My internet works.

ok how do i know the rendu is connected to my dac? i know there is a way but it escapes me now.

Hey Miska when are we going to see updates to Desktop 4 to make it more friendly to run upsampling with those fabulous ec modulators?

Ok Hqp4.1.1 resulted in higher cpu usage (around 90%) for dsd. I was running 49% with prior level of hqp.I am using ASDM7EC for 5.6m. I don't have cuda enabled. So if i try 11.2m it really stutters. Should 

i enable cuda? Tried cuda doesn't help. I am using W10 with latest update (1903).

You should only enable CUDA if you have new enough Nvidia GPU. Otherwise keep it completely disabled.

 

What CPU model is this? I have about 30% total load for poly-sinc-ext2 + ASDM7EC to DSD256 on i7-7700K.

 

It is an I5. I'll try different settings

I am not getting connectivity from the microrendu to the dac. in mysonicorbiter I go to dac diagnostics and it shows no dac connected. I tried rebooting the microrendu, tried shutting down the dac and restarting but nothing seems to work. I even pulled the power plug from the rendu and then reinserted. Would appreciate some guidance. I am using Hqplay

This is very embarrassing. Unbeknownst to me I had  a power failure in which case my LIO reverts automatically  to an analogue input rather than the digital input. Thanks to all who responded. Problem now fixed.

Hey Jussi tried to install 4.2.1 and I get errors when trying to install.

Windows 10 version 1903. So I tried to reload prior version ( had already uninstalled it) and I get same errors. Something like error opening files to write with 3 options  click to abort or retry or skip and I tried retry and skip but it seems every file gets same message

If I load dsf and pcm files I can play pcm fine the when the next file dsf it plays fine. But not th3 other way around. Going to pcm from dsf it appears to play on the display , plus I see the lights blinking on my Rendu but no music plays. If I shut down Hqp then restart the pcm file plays fine. Problem with settings? I enable adaptive rate.
