LUMIN - Audiophile Network Music Player

I thought I ask the Lumin pros here for some advice.
I would like to get a transport to replace my mac mini/Audirvana/MicroRendu setup.
It will feed my Chord Cutest DAC - Rogue RP-1 Preamp and then to my Rogue Magnum II tube amp.
My speakers are Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grande SE and a Rel S510 sub.

My question: is my system high end enough to benefit from the extra cost of the U1 over the U1 mini?
I listen to mostly Jazz, smooth jazz type stuff. I have a library of redbook all the way up to DSD and stream Qobuz.

So I got a good deal on an U1 streamer and ordered it.

 

I have a WD PR4100 NAS. The DLNA server on it is Twonky Server. Will this work or will I need to run Minimserver?

Minimserver don't run on Western Digital NAS.

Just got my U1 and love it. 

 

I have some DSD512 files but my Chord Cutest DAC only supports DSD256. I did not see any resampling options for anything higher than DSD128 in the Lumin App resampling menu.

I’m having a problem with Qobuz in the Lumin app.

it had been working fine till now.

 

it don’t show none of my favorites or playlist any more. Just some folders with a zero.

I logged out of Qobuz and back in on the Lumin app and but same result???

I just bought some DSD256 music from Native DSD but my U1 won’t play any of the tracks from several different albums.

 

I hit play no sound and a second later it then jumps to the next track. It continues to do this till it goes through every track then stops?

Ok. I got the 256DSD files to play. There is an issue with the Leedh. I turned that off and files play. They won’t play if Leedh volume control is on.

To explain further: The reason volume control has to be turned off for Lumin DSD256 digital output is that, since volume control for DSD implies a DSD to PCM conversion, but none of the current Lumin models can convert DSD256 or DSD512 to PCM (as stated in another recent post), so DSD256 will not be played to digital output if volume control is turned on.

 

Lumin volume-controlled analog output of DSD does not involve a PCM conversion, therefore it is different.

Anyone using the U1 to upscale? I see my U1 has the capability to do this. I tried it but don't really hear any difference in the SQ feeding my Chord Qutest DAC. Maybe this is just something better suited to the Chord M Scaler connected to the Qutest DAC?

I have an issue with playback through my Holo May DAC. The May output is half on DSD vs PCM. Not sure why this is in the May but it is. I do know the May has a separate section just for DSD so that has something to do with it.

 

Is there anyway in the Lumin I can set it to output -6 db less during pcm playback only? Kinda annoying that the May does this. A playlist that has both pcm and dsd makes the volume almost double when playing a pcm file vs dsd.

Not sure why my album tracks are showing out of order in the Lumin app when I browse by folder?

If I browse by album there in numerical order.

I waited like you suggested but there still out of order but only when I browse by folder. If I browse by album the tracks are in the correct order.

I guess the problem is my server. I have a Western Digital PR4100 NAS and it only offers Twonkey server.

mp3 tag software shows the correct order so it’s something with Twonkey.

Anyone experiencing streaming drop outs from the radio stations. These use to work flawlessly and I have had issues for several weeks now. Qobuz streaming works fine.

Will the U1 pass 1024 dsd as a roon endpoint upscaled from HQP?

Just updated the Lumin App and now all radio stations were gone. I had to toggle radio stations to off back on in settings to get them back.
