Computer Audiophile's 1st Birthday!

One year ago today, November 20, 2007, I started Computer Audiophile. On that first day the site had zero visitors. The total number of visitors during the first week was zero. Nine days after the site launched the visitors started to arrive. All three of them! One year later Computer Audiophile is viewed in 165 countries around the world and the number of readers continues to grow dramatically every week. Some great components have been reviewed over the last year and some not so great components have been sent packing back to the manufacturer. But reviews are only a small percentage of the site's information. Thanks to all the readers the Computer Audiophile forums are a very enjoyable place full of great information, very intelligent people, and an atmosphere like no other.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Readers have a lot to look forward to at the end of 2008 and all of 2009. Some great components are in the review queue and some very informative articles are waiting in the wings to be published. The Consumer Electronics Show in January will be full of music servers and CA will be there blogging live from the Venetian. There are many more "things" in store for 2009 here at CA. For a limited time only the Computer Audiophile Store will be open at Cafe Press. There are shirts, hats, mouse pads, stickers, etc... available with the brand new trademarked Computer Audiophile® logo printed on them. No need to order in the next ten minutes because you won't receive a free set of knives or any magic putty, but feel free to check out the store when you get time. Computer Audiophile Store at Cafe Press. Speaking of time, it's a great time to be a computer audiophile. The snowball is rolling downhill and there is no stopping this movement of improvement in sound quality and convenience. I promise you haven't seen anything yet :-)

A very informative forum indeed and unusually relaxed as well!

Would be interesting to see how the number of registered users has grown over the year and what the figure is now.

    Hello Chris,
I wish you a "Bon anniversaire" from across the Pond.
I only discovered you (our?) site a few weeks ago and I'm learning fast from the various forums.
Lost of passionate and knowledgeable people around.
Very impressed with the relaxed and courteous atmosphere within CA.
Call it a homely site.
Thanks for the (hard) good work.
Great work Chris, the most enjoyable forum around, and with an almost complete lack of back-biting, I don't know how you do it, but long may it continue, very best wishes, Keith.

...means "Happy Birthday" in German. This site is most welcome. It is the only good one dealing with audiophile music & things for & from the computer. Keep up the wonderful work.

Thanks, Chris, for all the hard work! This is often the first site I visit every day. In addition to all the valuable information, guidance, reviews and forum dialog, I very much value the "spirit" and excitement that you bring to the site and, importantly, "computer audio" in general.

Here's to a very long and successful future!
Chris, you rock. Thanks for making this happen and for your enthusiasm and focus on growing the community and collateral we need to be informed. Now get the DACMagic and cheap set up articles out there!
Congrats! Your site has been, and continues to be, a great resource and an interesting pastime. When I joined I never even heard about external DAC's; now, thanks to excellent advice from you and the great community here I'm thoroughly enjoying a computer based setup with studio gear DAC, active monitors and subwoofer.

Thanks and keep up the good work!
..just a year old! That must mean I found you pretty soon after you slipped into being, quietly, with no fanfare - just a domain name that popped up whenever I searched for info on my favourite hobby! Thank goodness I now don't have to cope with all the propeller heads on the various AV and hi-fi forums :-)
