I'm using Daphile for a while as I'm running my server in a virtual machine (Oracle Virtualbox). Ran without any issues but I recently noticed that sda2 is full. I have enough disk space and would like to extend this partition. I know this is more or a Linux question than an LMS question but would appreciate any pointers on how to do this as I'm probably not the only one having this issue. thanks

Folks: I'm getting ready to purchase a 4-disk (3.5") NAS for my network (Synology ds413j or ds413 ???) or a Drobo 5N with an external drive for backup and, although I'm reading furiously, I am a neophyte in networking. I am currently wrestling with how to think about disk size. I'm getting a 4/5-bay to deal with my current digital stuff plus future acquisitions, so I'm thinking about starting with a couple of 2 TB WD Red NAS disks. I assume that I don't have to have the exact same sized drive each time I add a disk. So for example, in a Raid 1 setup, if one of the 2 TB drives fails, I could replace it with a 3 TB drive although that probably won't increase my storage capacity given the nature of a Raid 1 setup. And then replace the last original 2 TB with a 3 TB when it fails, etc. Given a $50 price difference per drive between a 2 TB WD NAS drive and a 3 TB, are there any advantages (other than greater storage capacity) to beginning with 3 TB vs. 2 TB drives? For example, are there differences in reliability between 3 TB and 2 TB drives over time? Do they have the same MTBF? Thinking strategically, will a pair of 3 TB drives give me any additional flexibility for disaster recovery, future expansion or conversion to the "next big thing" in NAS technology? Thoughts and advice appreciated. Thanks, Mike
