fireone
Has anybody had problems with blown tweeters in recent months ? Not keen to hook up my newly made music server if they are going to damage the heart of the system . As others have mentioned in other posts on this topic this phenomenon for some audiophiles is a deal breaker. Looks like it will be for me. davidR
I was enjoying my shiny new Apogee Rosetta 200 DAC when a week after receiving it the power went out and the DAC powered off sending a seriously loud thump through my active monitors & blowing both tweeters and causing amplifier issues in one of them that will cost me the price of the speaker to get repaired. I'm looking for a pre-amp needless to say...it's simply playing russian roulette without a volume control in the chain. That's my advice. david is hear[br]http://www.tuniverse.tv Link to comment
wgscott
I have this: http://www.brickwall.com/ Power was out for 3 days this week, numerous surges, etc. It is too risky not to have one in my situation. Link to comment
mwheelerk
I keep learning here at CA. First I assumed any DAC connected directly to an amp would require a volume control. Was volume controlled via the playback software? "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." Frank Zappa Link to comment
