Benefit of using more expensive USB cable when connecting Squeezebox touch and HDD

I've been reading a lot about the value of using high-quality (i.e., more expensive) USB cables in digital audio systems. Does anyone have any experience or comments about the benefit of using high-quality USB cables to connect a Squeezebox Touch and an external HDD?

I would guess, since that is purely a data use of the cable, vice using it to transmit an audio signal, there will be little difference, if any, from any well built cable. Say, any cable that costs $3 or more.

 

Seriously, when you are moving bytes back and forth to a disk, it has little effect on the sound compared to when you are connecting, say a DAC. Then it is probably worth while to investigate several different cables to find one you really love.
