KDinsmore
Allman Brothers Fillmore East is one of my favorite all time albums. I've got the HDTracks, MFSL and others. HDTracks sounds better (or am I faking myself out?) but not by some huge margin (Ditto on the Let it Bleed HDTracks vs CD dual-disc remaster (CD side)). Would anyone have a frequency comparo graph of this? mwheelerk
I equally love Fillmore East. Though I have quite a few HD Tracks high resolution titles ( about 60) I am not one in general to get or keep multiple versions of albums. So, if I have a version of an album such as this on MFSL and I like the mastering I pass on them but I am curious about others opinions who can do the comparisons. "A mind is like a parachute. KDinsmore
I've spent some time comparing the HDTracks, MFSL CD, and a vinyl rip from Classic Records. I will admit to surprise here: First by a good margin is the Classic Records 24/96 rip, then MFSL, last HDTracks. I would describe HDT as almost strident at times and lacking bass impact. Going into this I really believed the HDT would be number one. I will temper my purchases with them from now on until I get a report back on audio quality.
