Paul R
British Folk Rock, from the B&W Society of Sound site. Very light, some strange lyrics, and it makes you hum along and smile, even the first time you listen to it. Great stuff. This is a very good idea Chris, and my wife thinks so too. -Paul Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat DAC. Robert A. Heinlein Link to comment

Paul R
Or in English, District 13: Ultimatum I loved this soundtrack in the movie, and my darling wife ordered an imported CD of the soundtrack for Father's Day. It's in French, and sort of electronic oriented, but utterly fantastic music, and well engineered too. I even like the psuedo-rap tracks on it. As a side benefit, if you want to learn to cuss in French, the first track is a master's class. The very first time I have ever heard a phrase "bleeped" out on a CD. But enjoyable despite the minor annoyance of some rude language in the first track. If you don't speak French it ain't gonna bother you anyway! By the way, the movie is great too, as is the first one. Mindless, Luc Besson stuff, but utterly fun. -Paul Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat DAC. Robert A. Paul R
Mike Oldfield: Ommadawn. A wild album chock full of Celtic instruments that seem to jump out at you and stand in the room. Endlessly fascinating depth and detail. 1975 recording, third album from Oldfield. Cream: Goodbye. The 3rd album from Cream, and I believe it was released in 1969, a few months after Cream disbanded. Three tracks are live, and three were made in the studio. If you have not heard it, get it. Perhaps the best album ever from Cream. -Paul Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat DAC. Robert A. Heinlein Link to comment

Paul R
Album: Jeff Wayne's War of the World Artist: Jeff Wayne & Co. This darn album still holds up after three decades. We just listened to it all the way through, and the sonics are still nothing less than a treat. Especially if you listen with the lights dimmed and your eyes closed. Paul R
Album: The Orange Mountain Music Artist: Philip Glass This is a sampler, with music from films, symphonies, and some experimental stuff. 21 tracks in all. Some of which is slightly creepy to be honest. Or perhaps it is just me, we watched the recent Dr. Who episode about Vincent van Gogh, which was way wonderful, but intensely bittersweet. Some of this music reminded us of the feelings that television episode engendered. Creepy, manic, glorious. -Paul Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat DAC. Robert A. Paul R
Album: Last Days of the Century Artist: Al Stewart But which century? With good old Al, you can never tell. But the guitar work and lyrics are always mind bending and utterly fantastic. I always find the flute work on Helen and Cassandra particularly appealing. It fits the music so well. The album also includes as demo cut of Ghostly Horses of the Plain with some guitar work that sounds better than the version that made the album. Wish I could play with feeling like that.
