Sunrise
I use Pure Music and am very happy with it. It sounds better and has the useful feature of automatically resetting a Mac's Audio MIDI sample rate when using 24bit / 96 kHz and 24/192 high resolution files. However, given you are mainly listening to MP3s at 16/44, that would not be applicable to your setup. I recommend you buy a DAC (must have) and then download the free, trial version of Pure Music, listen and buy the software if you discern value. iMac > Firewire > Weiss DAC 202 > ASR Emitter 1 > Focal 1028 Be Link to comment
kumakuma
I don't notice much if any improvement in SQ on my lower-end system but auto switching of sample rate and memory playback (especially on my work machine) make it a must-have program for me. Hog mode is also useful if you visit sites that autoplay sound or video. The Hawk
I'm still playing with Pure Music ($130), Fidelia ($30), and Audirvana (free). There may be differences, but they each sound good in their own way. Dave MacBook->Audirvana Plus->Naim DAC-V1>Naim Nait XS->Naim Intros/nSATs Link to comment
