satkinsn
All - Dumb question, but I can't think my way through it on my own. I have an old Olive Musica server in my office. It stops at cd resolution. If I want to add albums I have purchased in high resolution, how do I make 'down resolution' copies that are essentially cd files? tks, Scott A. \"...many people are doped up, drunk, compulsive liars or completely bat-s**t insane. new_media
I have used Peak LE with a dithering plugin to downconvert hi-res files to 16/44.1 with good results. The pro version of Peak has dithering built in. I believe the plugins will work with dbPoweramp as well. Link to comment
bdiament
Hi Scott, If you have a Mac, try either Wave Editor or Sample Manager, both from Audiofile Engineering. Both of these programs utilize Alexey Lukin's superb 64-bit SRC (sample rate conversion) and MBIT+ dither algorithms (both marketed by iZotope) - each very easily the best of its kind of the dozens I've tested. Load the high res file and convert sample rate to 44.1k. Lastly, take the 44.1k file and dither to 16-bits. The results will be (16/44) CD resolution files. Hope this helps. ron spencer
I use r8Brain Pro by Voxengo to down sample to 44.1 and then izotope (mbit) to dither to 16 bit. Incredible sound Link to comment
