The Computer Audiophile
Does anyone have a recommendation for a 10Gb fiber media converter? The equipment overheated yesterday in my crawl space. I need to move it to the basement. One 10Gb device is copper only. I have a dozen strands of single mode fiber available from my room to the basement. I think a 10Gb fiber media converter will be perfect in this situation. Open to other suggestions as well. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
AudioDoctor
It's likely massive overkill, but... https://store.ui.com/us/en/collections/unifi-switching-utility-10-gbps-ethernet/products/us-xg-6poe The Computer Audiophile 1 No electron left behind. Link to comment

Unshielded Twisted Pair can be used, but so can Shielded Twisted Pair. RJ45 is more accurate as it’s the only termination that works in that port. Hmm. SQFIRST
Just wanted to add that unmanaged 10G switches are coming down in pricing. They can work as FMCs and are also great for isolating devices with 10G. I am using this one currently but there are many other similar units out now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTSKKR76?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I have had no issues with it so far, however, I am not using it for any intensive network use.
