abuhannibal
Have been running various self-built servers for some years, slightly modified CAPS v3 and on. Always stuck with JRiver so far, one of the great benefits for me is that I can use VST plugins, which I use for headphone EQ etc. Also in my main system I use JRiver via DLNA thru an etherregen to PS Audio Bridge II. Am thinking of trying another solution (I know that PS Audio is working on one too) but I would be loathe to give up the possibility of EQ, and better yet, would really like to be able to run VST plugins. (Right now Mathaudio and Voxengo Curve mainly.) Are there any other server OS's and/or commercial products that would allow me to do this? (Probably a very newbie question but I have been out of the loop for a while....) Thanks! Bob Link to comment

abuhannibal
Thanks. I tried audirvana briefly and could not get it to work in my very without gaps/stutters. Admittedly I didn't spend a lot of time futzing with it b/c i some eye strain issues these days and kinda lost patience. But maybe i will give it another shot. I don't really dislike JRiver, but even with 30 years experience in IT I sometimes find their interface to be a little maddening and not documented as well as it needs to be. I have a long association with PS Audio and am hoping that their upcoming airlens will work for me, but EQ is pretty close to being a "gotta have" so we'll see/ Link to comment
