With the development of D100, DELA developed Audioohile Network Hubs. It fully meets the requirements to ensure the quality of Network Streaming. It takes the function of the DELA series to a new level. For example, using SFP as a high-end network switch, supporting optical fiber technology to transmit signals.

The chassis of DELA S100 adopts a sandwich type shock-absorbing structure, and the top and bottom plates are reinforced with aluminum plates to improve stability. And built-in high-quality clock circuit, so that the time base error is further reduced. The power supply part adopts large-capacity capacitor technology to ensure stable and pure voltage. All made in Japan.

 

How we design a modified DELA S100?

1. Improve the outlook which make it more like a audiophile gear
2. The device should be powered externally with audiophile grade LPS
3. The power section should be enhanced with more exotic audio capacitors
4. The Giesemann OCXO 25Mhz will be optimised to DELA S100. The Giesemann Clock will be in module, to supply the cleanest clock signal to the board. 
5. The OCXO version should be fit into one single box for DELA S100
6. The internal wire with optimised with Duelund Silver Cable, and solder with Audio Note 
7. The chassis will be using Carbon Fiber to tailor made to place at the top of DELA S100. 
8. The use of SFP Single Mode Optical Fiber will give you another isolation to connect Cascade of DELA S100
9. The EMI shielding from KAMET corp. will apply to the RJ45 ports
10. Enhancement on Industrial Grade Thermal material from Shin-Etsu  (Made in Japan) will apply to CPU again.

Why mixture of Exotic FROLYT Audio Capacitor?

• Frolyt ERY Series 4700uF x 3 = Total 14100uF
• Frolyt Bioplar EKSU Series  470uF x 2 = Total 940uF
• Compared to orignal, Mix of Flolyt will improve the micro details and dynamic of music, more natural and laid back 
• To usd of exceesive and oversize of Audio Capacitor will remove the bottleneck and imcrease smoothess of music flows 

 

Why do we choose managed Network Hubs?

• Customerisation on VLAN, Subnet, Flow Control and QoS can lower the latancy on each lan ports. 
• The sounding can be configured and optimised to Audiophiles. 

 

The internal cable is replaced with Dueland Audio Cable. As you see their is extra Capacitor section compared with the Buffalo GS-BS2016. We replaced the Japan capacitor with larger Floyt Audio Capacitor from Germany.

 

The LED light can be switch off by Audiophiles, it can reduce the electric noise and darkness at the background will be increased. 

 

We can now confirm the motherboard of DELA S100 is the same as Buffalo GS-BS2016. Someone may noticed that the DELA S100 is only with 8 ports, which is different to Buffalo GS-BS2016 having 16 ports. Actually DELA S100 actually hide the top 8 ports nicely with the back plate and was disabled those port in admin page. The LED can be switch off to eliminate noises. The DELA S100 has external DC port which allow customer to use their Linear Power Supply (LPS) to power them in 12V 1A 

 

So we are quite excited to open up the large heat sink and have a look what is inside. 

The inside is opened,  both Buffalo GS-BS2016 and DELA S100 is using BROADCOM BCM53343A, the internal clock is near the silver Broadcom. The excessive size of Aluminium heat sink is good to work 24x7 in commercial. As you may know, the lower the heat, the music representation will be more relax and laid back.

 

The rich representation on sounding and lush airly high may be due to proper sofware implementation and high specification on motherboard,  and using a very low jitter re-clock high performance switch with BROADCOM BCM53343A.

The OCXO installed in the product can calibrate the products used in industrial equipment for a long time, and use equipment with good characteristics. In order to optimally select the audio clock, we comprehensively evaluate with Symmetricom Flagship 5125A to analysis the phase noise characteristics and short-term stability (Allen dispersion) that can be determinate the OCXO grading accordingly. 

The OCXO installed in this product uses a stable OCXO unit that has been calibrated for several months. In order to make the best choice of OCXO. We are conducting a comprehensive evaluation of phase noise characteristics and short-term stability (Allen dispersion) during detailed inspection. 

The final product will final measured and fine tuned with Keysight 53220A with reference to Atomic Clock , GPSDO.

As Etherregen is no longer available for ordering, how will your modified Dela S100 compaired to combination of ER & Afterdark Clock perform soundwise? Also size of DC plug is used on your Dela S100 for the 12V LPSU?

 

I'm very surprised that there wasn't any feedback so far for this unit.

Thanks for your message.  We used to have EtherREGEN, and upgrade with the modified DELA S100, and Buffalo BS-2016 when we found this switch is much amazing for use it in HQPlayer and Roon. We are quite confident that will you be suprised when you upgrade to stock DELA S100, the sound is much balanced, smooth, and music flow is much better, 

 

The modified DELA S100 will be more advancement with upgrades with internal Gieseman OCXO, carbon fibers,  upgrades internal DC cables, using more natural sound Audio Capacitor from Floyt Germany. The DC plug is on 2.1mm and can works plug and play with our Black Modernize LPS. 

 

For Buffalo GS-2016, it shares with same motherboard with DELA S100. The latest version we developed this year, could be  accepting external 10M Master Reference Clock signal, so customer can upgrade the sounding with their external clock. This is the best combo in less cost when compared.

Just pulled the trigger on the Dela S100 "EMPEROR TRIPLE CROWN"

Along with the Finisar SPF x 2 and Fiber .

A few weeks to wait for delivery.

I must admit I took a punt making a purchase of the AfterDark when I first listened, it was far too bright and thought I have made a mistake but after burn in I am very pleased with the result.

 

Currently, I am using a Sean Jacobs DC1 power supply (on loan) so perhaps not the most expensive power supply.

 

Fiber Finistar FTLX 1475D3 BTL moduels with Commscope Fiber cable into the AfterDark. Ethernet to Antipodes Oladra.

 

Using with an Antipodes Oladra I found streaming from Qubuz better SQ than SSD. SSD was better with the AfterDark than without.

 

I found more detail less fatigue, better separation, tighter textured bass, better attack, better timing, sound stage was better defined.

 

It did not make the music more musical (laid back), nor thinner.
