Mac Mini and Pure Music

Pure Music sounds terrific, without an SSD. Its a terrific program.

When you install an internal SSD into a Mac Mini though, you bring down the noise floor, which benefits all audio applications.

The SSD draws less power and returns OSX and application I/O faster. Therefore the system works less, and there is less emi reflected in the box.

The lower noise floors allows you to hear better seperation betweens instruments, better soundstage, tighter bass, cleaner highs, etc.

Thanks for the feedback.

Just to clarify do your comments relate to using the "internal" SSD for OSx only with audio data on an external drive or OSx and audio data on the internal SSD ?

Any view on the use of mechanical versus SSD in external storage for audio ?
