Network Path Question

Say you have a powerful PC music server HQP/Roon with two lan connections. One is connected to a switch/router for streaming etc. and the other to a Rendu. Do the the processed music bits travel directly from the PC to the Rendu (the PC acting as a lan switch) or must they travel back to the router/switch and then back to the lan connected to the Rendu?

The connection should be direct.

If you have a multi-homed computer with a 192.168.10.X/24 and a 192.168.20.X/24 network you could put the 10.X on your router leg and your Rendu on the 192.168.20.X leg. If you are serving up direct from disc on the PC then it's just that leg. If you are streaming from the internet it will go over the 10.X leg first obviously.
