cjf
Another vote for Rythmik here. I've got two of their E15HP2-SE's in my setup and am fully satisfied. My room is quite large and they fill it with ease while not even blinking. I was very surprised at how well they keep up with the speed demon Magico S3's I use for my front main towers. Mine Rythmiks are crossed over at 65hz and the Magico's do the rest. Bang for the buck I don't think they can be beat...IMO of course. My Audio System -Last Updated May 20 2021 Link to comment

I have a pair of handmade/ paired individually Legacy Audio Studio HDs driven by a Schiit Rggy just the amp-- those Studio HDs have more than enough bass/woofer power to make me feel the vibration through wood floors of my 1906 house same goes to my body when listening with headphones and it just seems like overkill spend the money on monitors like mine or go up a class to the Calibre. The studio HDs are closefield with 8" woofer and frequency response of 42-22 kHz plus when I watch/listen to movies sports etc instead of music those HDs have more than enough 'muscle' to enjoy say star wars--to me much better than my old 5-7.1 cambridgesoundworks(henry kloss's last company) set with towers satelites(sic) model 6s and sub--just thumping good bass etc. I was pretty happy with the bass output of my main speakers for quite awhile but in this hobby we always seem to want more. This may sound strange but as much bass as you think your main speakers may have its just not the same as it is with one or more properly setup and integrated subs placed into the mix. Honestly its pretty hard to put into words all the things subs bring to the table with simple 2 channel setups. Off the top of my head this comes to mind: They help to recreate/define the sound and size of the space where the performance took place. Basically that very low frequency information that is always there but most never notice/realize/think about it as they stand there in that space. If your standing in the Colosseum it sounds massive. If your standing in a Jazz Bar it sounds smallish and cozy. This low level info you just never get without subs unless you've dropped a few hundred G's on your main towers and another $75K-125,000K on amps to properly power them. And even then, it might not be the same or as good. When done right, they should sound no louder than your main speakers do at max level but the difference is the scale/size of that sound. The entire room turns into the venue as if you were standing there (at least that is the goal of course) not just the sound of a pair of speakers most obviously playing in front of you attempting to do the same thing. I could go on but this hopefully gives you a few reasons why it may be worth considering or not. Bill Brown and oodalolly 1 1 My Audio System -Last Updated May 20 2021 Link to comment
