mwheelerk
I have a 2010 Mac Mini with a Bel Canto DAC1.5 and two WD external hard drives. My music library is on one external hard drive and the other is my primary back up. All three devices are currently connected via USB. I have read a couple of times on this forum about separating the DAC from other devices, not connecting it to the same Bus (USB). Would it be better to use the Mini Toslink to Toslink connection for the Mac Mini and Bel Canto DAC version the USB connection I now use. "A mind is like a parachute. losingmyreligion
If either of your external drives have a Firewire port, I'd use that for external drive connection. If not, I'd at least put the drives and DAC on high speed USB buses. You can check which USB ports are high speed via System Profile (aka About This Mac). My early 2009 Mini has two high speed USB buses. Not sure about the 2010 model. clay Link to comment
mwheelerk
Are you a shareholder? I see you posted this information in a couple of threads and info has nothing to do with the thread topic. "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." Frank Zappa Link to comment
