This is what my config looks like right now:

EdgeSwitch 10 > Fiber > Cisco 2960G > Copper > EtherRegen

 

This is the configuration I would like to experiment with:

EdgeSwitch 10 > Copper > Cisco 2960G > Fiber > EtherRegen

 

Does anyone know how to configure the SFP port on a 2960 to be a LAN/downlink port?

Something like this?
 

- The red cable is coming from the an EdgeSwitch. 

- Fiber going out to ER.

Figured it out! Holy moly what an improvement!!
 

Router > Switch > Port 1 on Cisco 2960 > SFP > Fiber > ER
