Mac mini no longer recognizes outboard drives iTunes folders.....help

Recommended Posts

My three month old Mac mini Just had it's hard drive replaced. I only use my Mini as a music server and send all my iTunes music as folders to my outboard G tech Riad drive. I've never put a single file or music folder on the Mini's internal drive so I assumed that when I reinstalled my G tech outboard drive back to my Mini with it's repaired hard drive I assumed as always it would see the outboard Drive's iTunes music folders, but it did not. In the advanced preferences I configured iTunes as I had before with the path of music folders directed to my outboard G tech drive but now none of the music shows up in iTunes even though the iTunes files folders in my outboard drive are intact as were before my my Mini crashed. Anyone that can share thier experinces with this issue would be appreciated

Thanks,

Dave

I'm guessing that you may only have your iTunes Music folder on the Raid, and the Library was in it's default location---ie on the local hard drive, so that when you replaced it, you lost your Library. The library is more like a "Card Catalog" in that it tells iTunes where to go in the Music files to find your actual music.
