bugstone
HifiMAN is a new hi fi portable music player. It will play 24/96 flac. I bet that an audiophile iPod is not too far in the future. It is really just a memory issue. Toshiba has developed a postage stamp sized 1TB ssd; but, it will not be out for a few years. Ear bud technology has developed fantastically too. The Jerry Harvey JH 16 Pro are considered by some to be a superior sonic experience than even the best full size audiophile headphones. Believe it or not the JH 16's are 3 way 8 driver earbuds. It is happening! http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-10466722-47.html http://www.jhaudio.com/promusic/ Bugs Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Hi Bugs - I hear you loud and clear. I think I saw this HiFiMan at Rocky Mountain 2009. A 1 TB tiny SSD could be a nice feature in a DAC. Just plug in your collection. I did listen to the JH13 at RMAF and thought they were really nice. Too bad at shows one has to use a makeshift mould for inner ear monitors. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
audiozorro
which I believe is available in Europe now and will be shipping in the U.S. in May. http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=575#feat Link to comment
bugstone
Chris, would you compare the JH13 to the new Sennheiser HD 800? I have read some people at head-fi say they like them at least as much. Apogee is aligned with Apple so that would help with the dac design for an audiophile iPod. Of coarse, there is still the inherent problem of having the dac in the computer area - which is not supposed to be ideal. Bugs Link to comment
bugstone
audiozorro, how about that. My latest portable audiophile discovery has just been leap froged (in less than an hour) thus, proving my point. Bugs Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Hi Bugs - The Sennheiser HD800 is the best headphone I've ever heard. Period. I think the JH13 is far better than my Ultimate Ears ue11 Pro earphones. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
