Musicophile
Does anybody else experience this since High Sierra: the boot process after shutdown takes forever? The initial screen to enter the password comes up quite quickly, but it takes at least 40-50 seconds before the main MacOs screen appears. I've read reports on the Web that this may be related to FileVault, which my company imposes. Does anybody else have a similar experience? Bob Stern
I have seen this reported on another forum. Is your startup drive an SSD? If so, the delay might be caused by the APFS boot volume being re-encrypted.
