Popular Post barrows
If you have an Ethernet port for control you have just introduced (supposed) problems into your (supposed) "ideal" set up. 1 TB is limited storage for a lot of peoples libraries. What "problem" do you think the SD card "solves"? There is nothing "wrong" with USB when done right, as long as the USB source is also done right. Optical Network provides superb isolation from a server. With an SD card that large you are going to have to have pretty robust onboard processing and caching to be able to navigate the library, so you have a basically just added a new noise source inside the DAC. I would rather see: A DAC circuit which is simple and uses minimal onboard processing for playback-such as Jussi's DSC-1 design, with a very well isolated (complete galvanic isolation) and shielded optical Network receiver, with a completely separate power supply (own transformer). Then have a powerful server in another part of the home, doing the oversampling/filtering required (DSD 256/512, maybe higher) for the simple (no additional processing) DAC circuit. marce and Ralf11 1 1 SO/ROON/HQPe: DSD 512-Sonore opticalModuleDeluxe-Signature Rendu optical with Well Tempered Clock--DIY DSC-2 DAC with SC Pure Clock--DIY Purifi Amplifier-Focus Audio FS888 speakers-JL E 112 sub-Nordost Tyr USB, DIY EventHorizon AC cables, Iconoclast XLR & speaker cables, Synergistic Purple Fuses, Spacetime system clarifiers.
