jaynyc
Hi. Does there exist an 'audiophile' grade Chromecast receiver product? We are all familiar with the $29 Chromecast Audio from Google and it's optical/SPDIF output. One option would be to use a reclocker on the toslink signal, another would be to get a Chromecast device that is designed from the ground up with high quality clocks, BNC output, etc.. Does such a product exist? Any leads greatly appreciated. Link to comment
k-man
This should qualify as 'audiophile', but I wouldn't say high-end: Beaglebone Wi-Fi Audio Cape - add for the software option 'Chromecast built-in for Audio (10 EUR/pc)', plus a Beaglebone Black of course. Link to comment

Looks like this would require some hands-on effort, ie: it's not plug-and-play. It's cool they have a ready-to-go Chromecast module. But I am only seeing analog outs, not SPDIF. Curious if there are any other products/solutions out there which do have Chromecast plus high quality SPDIF output..... Link to comment
