aivTO
I just purchased a G5 2.3 DP (PCI-X) it came with a 300GB HD and 2G ram. I would like to add an additional HD (Seagate 1.5TB Barracuda 7200-11) for the music files and would like to know if my choice of HD will work well or is there another HD that is much more suited. John edit: decided to go with 2- Seagate Barracuda ES.2 1TB Dual 2.3GHz G5 > 8GB ram > OS 10.5.8 > OCZ 60GB SSD + Barracuda ES2 1TB > Pure Music > iTunes > Lynx AES16 > Berkeley Alpha DAC V1 > Quicksilver V4 with KT-150 > Acoustat 6600 & DECCA ribbon tweeters DK30 Link to comment
One and a half
and put in a small 120GB SSD drive for the OS. It is sooooo fast, it's like putting in 200Gb of RAM. I had a few problems with the Seagates 1TB external drives, cause I suspected the power supply wall warts are a bit thin on the ground. I had to throw bth of them out, and replaced with WD book drives and they are fine, apart from going to sleep all the time. AS Profile Equipment List Say NO to MQA Link to comment
