Splitting DSD files in only the DSD domain?

At this risk of asking a very foolish question (but that's obviously not stopping me), when I use the Korg or Tascam editors to split a single DSD file, am I splitting the file solely in the DSD domain or is there any conversion from DSD to PCM and then back to DSD?

 

If there is a conversion to PCM, is there a method that the average consumer can use to split a DSD only in the DSD domain?

From Tascam's website:

 

Native editing of DSD files is supported without conversion to PCM (although conversion is also available.)

I checked the website and couldn't get an answer. Does anyone know if Korg's Audiogate editor splits DSD files only in the DSD domain?
