oldson
Hi my micro has developed awful distorted sound, most noticeable in the low frequencies. i have tried drivers 2.23 and 2.26 and several firmwares but cannot clear the fault. i use the micro as a desktop dac, mainly, but the distortion is there from the headphone out too. this distortion renders the micro as un-usable, its that bad. i have tried using the micro on a different pc with the same outcome. i do not have the facility to use the coax input to see if the problem was the usb receiver. i bought this unit 2nd hand some time back so of course i have no warranty. is it possibly cost effective to get it repaired, or any other suggestions? thanks in advance for any advice offered. oldson
to anyone who may read this. i would just like to say how happy i was with the support from AMR/IFI. my unit, i bought 2nd hand and so i had no warranty. AMR/IFi offered to inspect my device for free and then quoted an extremely reasonable price to rectify the fault, when they had no obligation to do so. my thanks to Kenny and Owen at AMR/IFI for great service. cheers Simon PC(flac/foobar/wasapi)>Ifi Micro Idsd>Headphone correction filter>Garage 1217, Project Ember/Violectric V200>HD800>Old Git Link to comment
