The Computer Audiophile
Computer Audiophile - Auralic Aries ... So Far Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
+1 I must ask why this is important with the Aries when other products are built for this functionality from the start. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
When the Express is used as a repeater, I believe bandwidth is halved. In that case you should use the 5 Ghz network. I doubt the halved bandwidth of 2.4 ghz 802.11n is sufficient for audio. May be more latency with a repeater too. You're confusing bandwidth with frequency band. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
I don't think I am. Bandwidth is 300-450 Mbps for 802.11n on the 5 Ghz band with Apple Airports. It's around 130 Mbps at 2.4 GHz. Ok cool. I thought you were just referencing the frequencies without the speed in Mbps. Sorry for the hassle :~) Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

I guess Auralic will jeep you as a customer and lose my patronage. I've used every Auralic digital product the company has ever produced. I've also used competing products from many manufacturers. Based on my experience, I have no problem recommending Auralic to my friends and colleges. In fact, I just recommended Auralic to a friend who is an audio dealer because he needs a product that does exactly what the Auralic digital products do. Compared to most other HiFi companies, Auralic is very innovative and has an in-house team that develops and supports its software / firmware. I can't say for sure if another product would be better for you because I don't really know your situation. I just know it's tough to beat what Auralic is doing. That's why most HiFi companies can't compete in this area. Cornan 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

Have you power cycled the Vega and Aries? Remove the USB cable from the Vega for the reboot. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
