wwaldmanfan
Tommy, 2nd from left. They're all gone now. Thomas Erdelyi, a.k.a. Tommy Ramone, died Friday at 65. He was the last surviving member of the original group. Erdelyi trained as a recording engineer, and worked at The Record Plant in NYC. He played drums on, and co-produced, their first few albums. He also wrote many of their most notable songs, including "Blitzkrieg Bop". The 1976-77 Tommy Ramone-era albums (Ramones, Leave Home, Rocket To Russia), remastered and re-released in 24/96 and 24/192 by Warner Bros./Rhino, and available for download on HDtracks, are magnificent.
