Maybe i was not precise enough with what i wrote.

 

If you want to use roon then you have to own a roon subscription.

If you dont want to use roon, you can still use WD NET as CD Transport.

 

If you want to use WD NET as streamer but with other system than roon - I have no idea if this is doable. I dont know what is Airplay, MPD server or HQ PLayer NAA. Maybe others will help to answer this question.

I just found in one review that you can use WD NET as HQ PLAYER endpoint.

Which means that you need to have hqplayer installed on some PC, which will send the signal to WD NET set as HQplayer endpoint.
