earlinarizona
This is a clear sign of the times when a Disney movie will only be available to download and not buy at a store. This is basically saying computer and music servers are the future. Ending weeks of speculation, a Disney spokesperson just confirmed that the soundtrack to Pixar's Up will be released by Walt Disney Records only as a digital download. No compact disc (CD) version will be sold. Quite disappointing considering the beauty of the cover and other factors, such as Up being Pixar's tenth film. As reported earlier, the soundtrack will become available for download on May 26. Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Wow, I would never have guessed this one would happen so soon. I can see some music being available for download only, but a Disney move, no way. This might mean big bucks for Apple and the Apple TV. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
Audio_ELF
It's on the movie Soundtrack CD that they've said is only for download, no indication that the movie itself will only be downloadable afaik. Movie downloads still have a long way to go IMO. How do we get high bit-rate 1080p with DTD HD M.A. 7.1 soundtracks if not via bluray ... certainly in England, you'd need 2 months allowance of the average ADSL connection to download it. Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
