Who's used the Audiophile Optimizer for Windows 2012 Server or Windows 8?

I tried googling to discover other apps (besides HQPlayer) that use qWAVE and couldn't find anything.

qWave is around since many years. It‘s almost undocumented by Microsoft and HqPlayer is the very first app to use it i know of.

Hi @AudioPhil, I am not able to use the Service_Tool of AO to start the Wireless LAN service under WS 2016 Core. It keeps showing error when the function of "Enable the Wireless LAN Support" is selected, even though I have already reset the "Optimization/switch between modes".

In order to run Kodi, the Wireless LAN service has to run properly. Otherwise, the error message of "wlanapi.dll is missing" will be kept on displaying.

In this case, could you please kindly advise how to solve the problem?

Thanks and regards, Simon

Hello Simon

WLAN does only work on Windows Server 2012 & 2012 R2 in minimal-server mode. All Windows Server versions in core mode do not offer WLAN support, this is not possible.

Best,
AudioPhil

Hi Phil,

I installed JRiver latest ver.24, 64 BT on my server 2012. Works fine.

But Service Tool can't find JRiver as a shell replacement requesting to install it in default directory. It's in GUI mode. Core mode of course the same.

Before that I use Jriver ver.23 with no problem.

Is there any work around?

Thanks and regards, Boris.

Hi Boris

What AO version are you on?

Best,

AudioPhil

Hi Boris

AO 2.10 does not support JRiver 24. But AO 2.20 does, so you simply need to update to AO 2.20. ServiceTool then supports the shell replacement for the latest JRiver version, both in x64 and x86.

Best,

AudioPhil

The issue with manually installing driver is that the driver must be signed. If not, you can install it by F8 (temporarily disable the signature enforcement). But you have to F8 every time you boot, else the driver wont get loaded.

Or you simply use the DriverHelper feature of ServiceTool which takes care of driver signing, compatibility mode and few other tricks to help install drivers! :)

Yes indeed good news :) There ar allready 21 iterations of AO 3.00, so far all is working great on all known platforms as well as on Server 2019. But WASAPI seems to be very tricky once more...

So to everyone out there... Now is a great time to let us know about your wishes for AO 3.00!

What would be the most wanted feature you'd like to see in AO 3.00? Please let me know!

I want see …….Dullmeter!!!! I like win 10 with fresh install.but after couple of hour or day, lost airy and microdetails. AO can solve this problem 100% ever,or better sometimes make reinstall Os ??? Thanks Phil!!!

AO will make this better, but it's not only AO, it's also the way you install the OS and what additional programs you install over time. Best is to have a dedicated partition where you install a separate OS and use that partition strictly for audio. On the other partition you install and do anything else you could need that machine for. The process for this is also described in our PDF manual, you can find it here: https://pdf.highend-audiopc.com/audiophile-optimizer-setup-guide.pdf
