I also understand native DSD through the microRendu and their DAC2 is not a high priority issue for them. Even so, given the time gone by and the number of W4S customers requesting this I am disappointed and frustrated they have not been able to make this happen yet. I know Tony monitors this thread so hopefully he will tell EJ about the recent discontent of W4S customers in their posts here and that will raise the priority for support of native DSD through the microRendu. I can understand your frustration, however, how many companies have you ever called and been able to talk with the chief figure ? I have several W4S components and they do what they are supposed to do. i have also met EJ at the Newport audio show . I called him with a few questions on my previous dac upgrade. Look......, early adopters usually have growing pains and that is whats going on here. EJ is a stand up guy and patience is necessary to get every variation being requested to adapt to the new Dac configuration. Wish you well with your new dac. they will take care of you. Is Richard no longer moderating this thread? What he did well was keep keep the topic limited to listening impressions rather than the now limitless complaints of I2S OTHER equipment that is not working well with this latest upgrade from Wyred. Most of us want to hear what you think of the latest upgrade and its comparison prior to the upgrade, If Richard was here, he would have had you start another thread on the topic of "I2S compatibility with the Wyred Dac....."come back Richard !!! ". Just my opinion. Cyrus 1 Link to comment
Popular Post lexicon1
Is it me or am I missing something. W4S implements an improvement in our DAC, This thread has typically had contributors who elaborate on their audible experiences with the Dac in general. The new implementation has an issue with a particular I2S unit (Singxer) and the thread takes a direction which spends so much time complaining about their Singxer implementation that it taints the name of W4S . I was hoping that those that had the upgrade chip would be more thorough on their audible description of the new chip, instead the general description seems to be "a big improvement", but no real description which can be described in great detail. For those using the I2S implementation, you cannot really say that the chip contributed solely to the improvement in sound since there does not seem to be a comparison of the chip addition before and after implementation separate from the I2S addition. . The improvement may be solely due to the I2S implementation rather than just the chip. is there anyone out there that ONLY made the chip change without adding any additional new hardware ? You cant make two changes and attribute the change in sound to either the chip or I2S , its the combination of the two. Thank you W4S for your efforts to upgrade your Dac, too bad its introduction has been tainted by the I2S issue. Most of us are not using I2S. So, is there anyone out there NOT using I2S that can elaborate in a detailed manner on the before and after experience of having the chip upgraded. ? emailtim and One and a half 2 Link to comment
