Robert Hutton
Just got the email about this from CDJapan. Here's hoping! Hoping for what, exactly? I would think this is almost certainly the (excellent) 24/192 version available to download on e-Onkyo. Link to comment
chriss71
Robert, one question: The Download from e-Onkyo is a different to the HDTracks one? Albert Einstein: Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. Link to comment
Robert Hutton
Robert, one question: The Download from e-Onkyo is a different to the HDTracks one? Yes, the HD Tracks is basically the hi-res 24/96 remaster for the recent box set and has all the bonus tracks on that set. The e-Onkyo is the Japanese SACD transfer. No bonus tracks. Link to comment
chriss71
Sorry, Robert, but there is no Japanese SACD transfer. The SHM-SACD transfer is sourced from the 2003 SACD Release? So what is the source from the e-Onkyo files? Albert Einstein: Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. Link to comment
KDinsmore
I though e-Onkyo was just the HDTracks stuff. Well this recording has just never sounded great other than vinyl or maybe MFSL CD. Tom Dowd recorded this one w/no Noise Reduction as I recall. I'm hoping for a miracle. It wouldn't surprise me if the Japanese 24/192 betters it still. Link to comment
chriss71
To my ears best version is still the old West German RSO CD... Albert Einstein: Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. Link to comment
Robert Hutton
To my ears best version is still the old West German RSO CD... Wow, Chris - using your EARS without DR database or Spectralanalysis?? That is quite revolutionary! Link to comment
KDinsmore
These are starting to trickle out. Exile is now available and I would like the ultimate (for now) issue of that!
