astrotoy
I heard Martin Frost (with the umlaut on the o) last May at Wigmore Hall in London. He is a very fine clarinetist and played a concert of short pieces - like encores, but for the entire concert. Interestingly there were a bunch of young people in the audience. He is apparently a bit of a "rock" star in the classical world - much like Joshua Bell was 10 plus years ago. Unusual for a classical music concert, he wore rather tight leather pants! Maybe it allows him to play the higher notes on the clarinet better. BTW, if you haven't heard the Mozart Clarinet Concerto or Clarinet Quintet, they are pieces that get you very close to heaven (even if you are not religious). EuroChamp
Mozart KV622 clarinet concerto is always a recommendation. and this album is very good! Martin Fröst has some other very good albums. There is an other one: Fröst - Weber (Carl Maria von) at eclassical. Bernhard Link to comment
