airguitar
I prefer it more simple. All my music is on a NAS. So, all I still need now is a DSD-ready streamer. (I had a USB-DAC 1,5 years ago with foobar, jriver installed on a netbook. Controlled via smartphone app.) [ Saying that, I am using a Squeezebox Touch, with EDO-app ] Your Squeezebox Touch is probably as good as you ever need streaming and sound quality wise, unless you really hanker for DSD or a bit of shiny silver bling... I can't speak from direct experience though (apart from comparing other streamers and using PCs), I haven't heard the Lumin, but that would be my best guess Link to comment
airguitar
Man I am lapping it up with the first play from my SoTM sMS-200 ULTRA !! I'm getting amazing sounds through this little miracle (sMS-200 ULTRA - Croft 25 pre / 7 power - Role Audio Enterprise speakers.) Link to comment
airguitar
Yes sort of - I was considering Lumin before choosing the sMS-200... a bit beyond my financial priorities though - I love the look of the Lumin players - but I'm not concerned anymore now that I have the sMS-200 Ultra - this is a giant leap in SQ (although I have yet to hear a Lumin in my rig). hurka 1 Link to comment

If I want to change the sound of my system, my SHD with Dirac and PEQ is fully capable of doing that safely. It's not about changing the sound - it's about improving the transparency, timing, presence, realism - those things cannot be improved with a dirac - the dirac is essentially a sophisticated tone control so will not actually improve 'transparency' for example.
