Russell_L
Just downloaded a new 24/96 album by the Eroica Quartet of the Debussy & Ravel String Quartets on the Resonus label from Linn Records. These graphs are from the last movement of the Debussy. (The frequency analysis is a 60-second excerpt from that movement.) They look really good! wdw
..many thanks for this post. These pieces are some of my most favoured quartets...Beethoven's late quartets are the tops, of course! Off to Linn. WDW Link to comment
Julf
Looking at that top end, my guess is that it is a very well done conversion from DSD/SACD material. Link to comment
Russell_L
Yeah, that little bump at 45kHz caught my eye, too. Resonus claims to record in 24/96 (according to the booklet), so this album should be more-or-less a clone of the master tape. It really doesn't really look like typical DSD ultrasonic noise (at least not like others I've seen). Julf
Probably noise from the recording systems, or computers. Link to comment
